New Marion County Website Has Many Features

Want to pay a county garbage bill online or find how to contact your county supervisor? Now there is an easy way, the new Marion County Web site.

Recently, at a Marion County Board of Supervisors meeting at its offices on Courthouse Square, David Crawford of U.S.NEXT, introduced www.marioncountyms.com to county Board members and staff.

?It?s got a lot of features,? County Comptroller Susan Bridges said. ?You can pay your solid waste bill and many other things. You can even go to the Emergency Management page and get live radar. It?s full of information.?

The site includes a variety of items, from biographies of elected officials from every department, services, information for residents, information for potential businesses, visitors and even a calendar of events. Among the other items that can be found are ways to pay court fines and tickets, buy fishing and hunting licenses, renew a boat registration and even a link to renew a state driver?s license.

Other information found on the site includes voter registration, weather warnings, homestead exemption information and even how to obtain a disabled parking permit. The site also has links to local jobs, economic development and online records as well as the links for the Marion County School District and Columbia School District.

Visitors can also take a visual tour of Marion County through a variety of photographs of historical markers and locations from Lake Columbia to the John Ford Home.

The site also links to the Marion County Sheriff?s Office web site where visitors can find items ranging from news releases to sex offender locations and jail items.
