In an effort to help current and prospective students create successful futures, East Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi recently announced the launch of its new website, www.eccc.edu. The new site provides a refreshed design with resourceful information and photographs, improved navigation, integrated news and calendaring, mobile and tablet friendly functionality, well organized links, and a robust content management system.
ECCC geared the full redesign of its website to efficiently connect current students, prospective students, and other visitors to the features and information they want to see.
?Communication is an important Institutional Commitment in the college?s strategic plan for the future, 2020 Vision,? said ECCC President Dr. Billy Stewart. ?An action plan within this commitment states that the college will enhance the use of online resources to increase college information available to current students, potential students, faculty and staff, alumni, and friends/supporters of the college. Our new website helps us accomplish this, as well as our long-term desire to be nationally recognized and locally preferred with a priority on meeting the educational and training needs of all residents of the college district?Leake, Neshoba, Newton, Scott, and Winston counties.?
East Central partnered with U.S.NEXT to design a website that would target prospective students as well as provide need-to-know information for current students, faculty and staff, alumni and other visitors. ?In addition to quick access to academic information and policies, the goal was to provide students with a site that enhances their educational experience and keeps them apprised of events and happenings on campus,? said Keith Liberto, Project Manager of U.S.NEXT. ?East Central Community College is a place of growth, and its students deserve the best possible tools to succeed while they are attending ECCC and after they graduate.?
Mobile devices and the Internet are increasingly used by people of all ages to gather information and make decisions. East Central Community College is committed to serving its community with easy access to quality educational options ? and that accessibility starts with providing a website that is resourceful and online 24/7.
